 The commencement phase of the programme ran until 2007 and focused on initial planning and operational activity. We are now in the succession phase of activity, expected to be complete by 2010, with a suggested third phase leading up to 2015.
Mersey Waterfront is being delivered through a pan-waterfront strategic partnership initially established with £8.8 million of funding from the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA).
The scale of what we hope to accomplish in this second phase has been greatly enhanced thanks to £9m from the European Regional Development Funding (Objective 1). Complemented by a further £10.9m of NWDA funding, the Mersey Waterfront Programme is able to build significantly on the impact achieved so far.
The total value of the programme to 2010 is anticipated to be approximately £91m, this includes private sector funding.
