The focus is on sustainable modes of transport, particularly public transport. The Mersey Way will comprise promenades and trails, in keeping with their surroundings and well signed for pedestrians and cyclists.

Public transport, both road and rail, will be aligned with key destinations and gateways to the Park. With the natural environment in mind, water transport is a logical mode for both commercial and leisure purposes.
